Overview

Through classes and field training, Army ROTC provides you with the tools to become an Army Officer while you pursue a college degree.

Point of Pride

The proudly supports the Total Army by producing leaders of character to serve as officers in the Active Army, National Guard, and Army Reserves. Graduates of the Battalion have gone on to command at the company, battalion, and brigade levels. They have also served in distinguished units such as the Installation Management Command, 75th Ranger Regiment, and the United States Military Academy.

Why study Military Science?

The field of Military Science is the study of military capability, taking into consideration the political, economical, and strategic aspects, in both theoretical and applied situations, of the military.聽

How to Apply

Application Information

Admission into the Military Science minor is by permission of the Department of Military Science chairperson following a special interview concerning eligibility and entry requirements. Interested students should make arrangement for an interview as early as possible, but not later than the second semester of their sophomore year. Students pursuing a commission in the U.S. Army are not required to complete the minor program of study.

Minors can only be declared by current Illinois State students. Current students can use the聽聽tool on聽.
